Batman LEGOs

By Peter Bainum

Until recently, the LEGO Group shied away from creating LEGO systems based on licensed themes (i.e., Star Wars.) Rather, the LEGO Group focused on building LEGO themes from scratch and marketing that to its fan base. To keep up with the competition however, LEGO decided to start working with other companies and have created huge growth and sales because of this. Because of the success the LEGO Group enjoyed from this, they have continued to license themes from other companies and have since created LEGO systems around Batman, Spiderman and Star Wars. This is a great situation for both parties as it tends to expand the fan base for both companies.

Of late my favorite theme of LEGO sets has been the Batman theme. Batman LEGO sets are becoming increasingly popular even though the LEGO Group has not released near as many sets for this theme as it has for other themes, such as the Castle theme, or the Star Wars theme. Despite this, Batman LEGOs are still very collectible and some Batman LEGO sets are becoming more and more difficult to find. This shortage of supply along with an increasing demand for these LEGO sets is causing many Batman LEGO Sets to increase in value.

The most sought ofter of these Batman LEGO sets is the Arkham Asylum LEGO set. This is a great set to find because it has 7 Batman LEGO minifigs, a few of which are extremely rare minifigs and not available in other Batman LEGO systems. Combine that with the fact that this LEGO set is no longer available for purchase through the LEGO Group or through LEGO retailers which has created a high demand for this particular LEGO system. This makes for a very expensive Batman LEGO set that can go for as much as $3oo per set! This makes it very difficult for many Batman LEGO collectors be able to afford.

One way that collectors still manage to partake in their favorite pastime is by sticking with just collecting Batman LEGO minifigs. LEGO minifigs are a great way to collect Batman LEGOs without breaking your budget. There are different ways of finding these minifigs for a low price, even when the minifig is particularly difficult to find. To do this, simply find an eBay auction that is a bulk set of LEGO bricks for sale.

Many eBay sellers know that bulk LEGO sets can sell for a good price, but they don't always know that some LEGO systems are more rare than others. This can result in poorly listed or poorly bundled LEGO lots for sale that are actually worth much more than they end up selling for. A smart Batman LEGO collector can take advantage of this and get the most for their dollar.

Being a collector of Batman LEGOs is a great pastime. Many LEGO collectors have a favorite theme they usually focus their collecting on and one of my favorites is the Batman LEGO theme because of how fun Batman is. - 31409
