Fur Real Friends Biscuit - A Great Gift Idea

By Traci Bolton

I love animals and have had a pet for as long as I can remember. However, there are many families who aren't able to have a pet and often for very good reasons. No matter which of the two sides your family falls on, Hasbro's Fur Real Friends Biscuit My Lovin Pup has become the hot toy idea for this year.

This cute, plush animal is a newcomer to the FurReal Friends product line of toy pets. Fully interactive, it is ready to amaze and entertain your child right out of the box. Biscuit comes with a collar, tag, brush, dog bone and adoption certificate. He comes programmed with behaviors such as nods, whimpers, barks and tail wagging - all of which are very realistic.

For even more realism, Biscuit is capable of recognizing your child's voice and knows six commands including sit, speak and lie down. He also knows how to shake hands when asked, which I think is the cutest trick that he knows. The sit up and beg trick is adorable as well.

A Few Considerations

Fur Real Friends Biscuit has a soft coat and pleading eyes. Biscuit is nearly two feet high. While most kids will enjoy the fact that is he a large size, this toy will be difficult for smaller children to carry around. This doesn't mean a small child won't fully enjoy this interactive pet, but this is certainly something to think about. Biscuit also requires 6 D batteries, which you will need to remember to pick up since they are not included in the box.

How Biscuit Works

You may be wondering how Biscuit knows to interact with your child. It's all in his nine sensors. For example, if Biscuits left paw is touched, he will raise his paw to shake hands with you. To get Biscuit to bark simply give him the command "speak." He will even respond by flinching or blinking if something is waved in front of him due to a sensor in his forehead.

Biscuit My Lovin Pup will choose various interaction modes based upon how much interaction he is receiving. After a short while of not being interacted with, Biscuit enters "hangout" mode where he will do some cute behaviors to try to grab your attention. If he doesn't receive some attention for a determined amount of time, he will next lay down and go to sleep.

With his sophisticated sensors and realistic behaviors, it's easy to understand why Biscuit is widely recognized as the most innovative toy of the year. With movements and sounds that are both life-like and realistic, Fur Real Friends Biscuit, My Lovin' Pup is sure to delight and entertain your child for a long time to come. - 31409
