I grew up playing with Lego - I am sure its the same for most people in their thirties - it was my favourite way to pass the time. My favourite things to build were houses and I would spend hours creating little villages and scenes to re-enact. My ten year old son, I am happy to say is exactly the same, he spends hours creating lego scenes and objects from his imagination.

It was, however, when I watched him build an aeroplane that I realised of all the lego he has inherited from myself and his father, together with all his own lego, that he actually didn't have any of the lego aeroplanes.

I looked on the internet and was amazed to how many lego aeroplanes there actually are! For the younger kids there are a few Duplo planes ("My First Plane" for example) and for each of the various lego branches there are also plane sets - for Lego Indiana Jones the set Temple Escape has a small aeroplane to build, Lego City has numerous planes, cargo planes, passenger planes, propeller planes etc and of course the Lego Space sets and Lego Star Wars sets have their own space planes/space ships to build.

Evil With A Changing Face - Transformers Megatron

If you know anything about popular movies in the country right now, you are likely aware of the release latest installment of the Transformers series recently. There has been one other movie released before it, preceded even farther back by a slew of cartoons and comic book appearances. There are many who don't know these robots as well as they would like to. For the sake of this article, however, I will stick to the finer points of Megatron. This is a hugely important name to know in terms of learning what there is to know about the Transformers.

A lot like the Autobots led by Optimus Prime, Megatron represents a really mighty and valued leader. Through the line of numerous comics and installments, it became apparent that Megatron was the most efficient and revered boss that the Decepticons had ever had. He reigned through fear and by fierce outbursts. He embodied a vicious military force in the warfare on Cybertron too.

The Decepticons are from Cybertron, a planet that also saw the creation and evolution of the Autobots. Basically this is a classic good vs. Evil story. The Autobots fought the Decepticons because they refused to reason in any other fashion. Their war spans the whole length of the comics, series, and is now beginning to be retold in part through the movies. Megatron battles for control of the Allspark, or The Matrix as it was known through the comics and television series.

Megatron and Prime were once acquaintances it's presumed, though today they're forever up at arms. It's thought that Optimus is saddened at the fact of what the Autobots and Decepticons could have done collectively, where Megatron merely sees it entirely laughable. Their animosity started while Megatron turned on the bots from Cybertron and organized the Decepticons.

Megatron went to Earth to pillage its natural resources with the help of the other Decepticons after Cybertron was in shambles. He was pursued there by Optimus Prime and his loyal Autobots to thwart this process. That is how the battle moved to Earth in the first place. Cybertron was emptied out of all of its resources and life trying to sustain a war for years, and its revival was directly related to Earth's destruction. So Megatron set off to pillage our world, and Optimus Prime set out to stop him.

There are advanced players who would use less or even no creatures at all, but that very difficult to do because you have find many different methods to attack and to block attacks and to solve all the problems that arise due to lack of Creatures. One thing you must bear in mind when you are building decks is that except Basic Lands, there must not be more than 4 cards with the same name in the same deck.

The Origin of Electronics in Model Train Operations

Before electronics hit the scene in the late 19th Century modelers had to rely on more subtle modalities of propulsion for their locomotives. Even as electricity dazzled the early train antsiest, and electrical mastery was becoming more evident, it was still a grand challenge to operate two locomotives on one layout.

Lionel offered a cool two channel system way back in the 1940's. This awesome before her time system used oscillating electrons and a transmitter to shoot messages through rails where your locomotive took in orders and delivered them with railroad precision!

The operator could control the locomotive through the use of a toggle switch or dial to manipulate train direction and speed. Unfortunately Lionel's system was unnecessarily bulky and cumbersome.

Lionel's short comings in the convenience category left room for companies like GE to walk in and introduce there electronic wizardry into the model train industry. GE brought to light a 5 channel system which allowed for the controlling of more than one train per block.

GE called this system ASTRAC (Automatic Simultaneous Train Control). This new system from GE utilized a silicon based rectifier that Incorporated a receiver in each cab. The receiver responded to signals within the tracks sent by a transmitter mounted elsewhere.

Later came other systems such as, Dynotrols Carrier Control which was popular for a while in the sixties and seventies. These early command control devices shared a major setback which held the industry down for a few years. These control devices where not at all compatible. This meant you had to have all the components made by the same manufacture as different companies followed different electrical blueprints and guidelines. You could easily short out your layout or even worse cause a serious electrical fire.

Lenz, a well know European DCC innovator, suggested that then industry device a system in which compatibility of model train decoders, power stations and transmitters be universal. These decisions paved the way for the diverse DCC industry we're privileged with today.

Where The Transformers Devastator Originates From

The Transformers have been around since the early 1980s and consist of two sets of robots that are constantly fighting with one another. There are the Decepticons and the Autobots. The Decepticons were the first to come up with a robot that consists of multiple smaller robots. This was the Transformers Devastator and it consisted of six separate robots known as the Constructicons. They would combine to form one giant destroyer that showed no mercy.

Devastator's sole purpose for creation is to destroy all that cross his path. The thoughts and actions of this gigantic Transformer can only go as far as the six Constructicons will let it. Thoughts and actions have a limit, because Devastator can only perform tasks that all six Constructicons agree on, the same goes for thoughts. Having six Transformers that make up Devastator can be both a positive and a negative attribute.

Constructicons were robots that changed into individual construction equipment; dump truck, concrete mixer, and such. Although these robots were created for building things, they were part of the Decepticon group and bent on destruction when needed.

Seeing as they are part of the Decepticon forces, they are all about being antagonists and going against the Autobots. This group also has very little regard for human existence and can change into aircraft, construction, or military vehicles.

In the animated series, the power to become Devastator was given to the Constructicons by Megatron, the manical leader of the Decepticons. While in the Marvel comics, the Decepticon Commander known as Shockwave arranged for the Constructicons to be made. After they were built, the power to combine into Devastator was given to them by the head of Optimus Prime, who was being imprisoned at the time.

No one knew in the beginning that they could combine to form Devastator, until the Autobots tried to interfere. While the Constructicons were building a huge dish for radio transmissions between Soundwave and Cybertron, the Autobots tried to stop the message from being sent. This interference triggered the Constructicons to form Devastator. The Autobots thought this was fantastic and wanted to create their own super-Autobot.

The Transformers Devastator impressed the Autobots enough that they decided to created Superion. He was formed from six different robots that could change into aircraft. Both of these super robots were bent on destroying the other, but this has always been a constant battle between all Autobots and Decepticons. The difference between the two is the Autobots care about those that get hurt in the process, while the Decepticons don't, especially when there are human beings involved. Meet The Leader Of The Decepticons - Transformers Megatron

If you're wise to the most recent box office smash hits, you're familiar with the Transformers series of films that have been put out. Though there are just 2 installations, you can be promised a lot of to come out in the coming years. You may not realize that these films were prefaced of comic books, novels and a couple of animated television shows. There are a lot of Transformers that you may see a benefit in recognizing for the sake of interpreting the films more effectively. With the exception of Optimus Prime, possibly the most significant to recognize is Transformers Megatron.

For this article and the sake of space, I will not delve into any of the other Transformers more than is necessary, so that you can focus exclusively on why Megatron is important to the franchise.

Much like Optimus Prime and the Autobots, Megatron is a very powerful and respected leader. Through the course of many comics and episodes, it became evident that Megatron was the most effective and feared leader that the Decepticons ever had. He ruled by fear tactics and through violent outbursts. He was a brutal force in the war on Cybertron as well.

The Decepticons are from Cybertron, a planet that also saw the creation and evolution of the Autobots. Basically this is a classic good vs. Evil story. The Autobots fought the Decepticons because they refused to reason in any other fashion. Their war spans the whole length of the comics, series, and is now beginning to be retold in part through the movies. Megatron battles for control of the Allspark, or The Matrix as it was known through the comics and television series.

Optimus Prime and Megatron were once friends it is assumed, although now they are always up at arms. It is believed that Optimus is saddened at the reality of what the Autobots and Decepticons could do together, where Megatron just finds it all amusing. Their bad blood began when Megatron turned on the bots of Cybertron and formed the Decepticons.

Megatron at first departed for Earth, even in the current films, to plunder its resources to substantiate Cybertron. He went with a grouping of his most faithful Decepticons. He was pursued there by Optimus Prime and his most trustworthy Autobots who planned to end him. The lone manner that Cybertron could become the planet that it used to be, it would cost Earth its living for substantiation. Optimus Prime hailed to deliver us from devastation. Megatron would obliterate us entirely in a second for his self-serving intention.

The Transformers Starscream Robot Is Prime

When it comes to the Transformers, everybody has their favourite. But who would think that so many would choose the Transformers Starscream robot as the best of all? And not just of the Decepticons but out of the entire Transformers universe?

Before we can talk about Starscream, we need to talk about the Transformers, in a pure reality sense of the title. The Transformers are a line of robot toys produced by Hasbro as early as the 1970s. The toys were simple enough and Hasbro was excited by its G. I. Joe toy series and wanted to keep the ball rolling. Writers were hired and back story was created to bring the Transformers to life.

The crux of the Transformers universe is that two opposing forces of sentient robots from a planet called Cybertron crash land on prehistoric earth and wake sometime in the future. The two leaders are Optimus Prime, of the Autobots, and Megatron, of the Decepticons. They have with them their finest soldiers and generals, and this is where Starscream comes into play.

Starscream is a general in the Decepticon army and decidedly one of the best Decepticons, as he is much adored by fans. He has been a part of the subgroups of micro vehicles, seekers, pretenders, action masters, deluxe vehicles and the predacons. Fans can't get enough of Transformers Starscream and there are many reasons for this.

The Transformers Starscream robot is typically considered a Rank Five soldier in Megatron's army. However many people feel he should be listed as a Rank Nine. I had my son help me put together this article to tell you everything you may need to know about Bakugan toys so that you will better know what to look for and buy.

First a little general information may be of help. Bakugan toys are collectables that can be used to battle other children. They come in all shape and colors and they have cards to go with them. The cards are as important, if not more important, than the actual Bakugan. The cards determine special abilities and attributes that can raise the power of the Bakugan which will determine the winner. Bakugan are magnetic and open when in contact with metal.

These are usually found in any major toy store or you can buy them online as well. The price varies according to exactly what you want to get. Duplicates are sometimes helpful because they may have different point values but you may want to check their collection before buying any.

Bakugan are usually divided into to categories: normal and trap. To actually battle with them they will need both types. The package will state if it is a trap Bakugan and these are usually in odd shapes whereas the regular Bakugan tend to be a ball. Duplicates in the trap Bakugan are alright as well.

Most Bakugan battles will consist of 3 regular Bakugan and 1 trap Bakugan. This means they will need several and of course they won't want to use the same ones for every battle. A starter set has 6 Bakugan but no trap Bakugan. If you go with this then I would recommend getting at least one single pack of trap Bakugan as well. The bakusphere does come with 1 trap Bakugan though and 2 regular Bakugan. It holds 8 and acts as a carrying case for the toys themselves and the cards.

The tin comes with 2 regular Bakugan and no trap Bakugan. This will hold 18 Bakugan and cards as well. They also sell carrying cases that do not come with any Bakugan for easy storage and to carry with them. These are good if they have a lot of them and need a place to keep them safe.

They have two new sets out just in time for Christmas. One comes with 1 regular and 6 trap and the other set is all regular. This is what is on my sons Christmas list.

The cards for this game come with the sets or are sold separately. As I mentioned before, these are very important and maybe even more important to have a large assortment of these then the toys themselves. As for the toys, they seem to be never ending. You have some that are rare and you have some that are very large. The regular, normal sized Bakugan are the ones most played with.

This can get to be quite expensive as a hobby and to get them all may take several years. I would advise starting slow and building over time. If your child wants to collect these it can be a great hobby. Mine loves Bakugan toys and they are definitely on his Christmas list. - 31409

The Nerf Raider CS 35 is the new dart blaster gun to come from the NERF workshop. It's an innovation on previous guns because it has a rapid fire option that does not require batteries to work. It bears a close similarity to a semi-automatic or pump action gun, except with soft darts as rounds. This is sure to help you dominate any nerf battles you have lined up this year or the next. Here are brief rundown of what you get in your Rapid Raider CS-35.

The common failure of a great nerf battle was a stilited or limited firepower. Fair enough, you could carry a few darts with you and reload each time you fire but nothing is quite the same as an rapid fire mode to deliver a withering rate of fire at the opposition. This has changed with the CS-35.

It belongs to the N-Strike line of guns, meaning it is not a velcro tipped dart. It can be easily adjusted in the stock so that anyone can fire it comfortably. It looks like your classic Nerf blaster but it has a drum magazine attached. The magazine will take up to 35 darts.

The gun can be fired in single shot mode or rapid fire. You know all about single shot so I will go on to the rapid fire mode. The rapid fire mode uses a pump action to generate air pressure that will propel the dart (you can get a fair distance with a dart, across a medium sized back garden). By keping the finger depressed on the trigger, you can effect an automatic (or semi automatic) fire rate each time you pump the stock. Therefore firing can be done as rapidily as you work the pump action.

The drum magazine is transparent so you get a clear view of the number of darts left. Reloading the magazine will take a bit of experience and time but the more you do it the easier it will become. If you are involved in a full on nerf war, then make sure you have a nice hideaway where you can go to reload.

You can buy the Raider CS 35 separately or as part of a starter kit that comes with an extra 65 darts (100 in total). Although the value pack will set you back a bit more, it is a better choice as you will never run short of ammunition with this option.

This dart blaster gun would be a perfect stocking filler or Christmas gift for children 8 and up. It's probably more of a boys gift and it wouldn't surprise me if the odd adult or two would fancy a gift like this too. - 31409
